Since I started blogging over 2 years ago, I have been looking for the best ad networks to help me monetize my blogs; I have tested a number of them, and in most cases I found many not worth putting them on my sites. Although display of ads won’t earn you a fortune, it is a good way to generate passive income on your blog.
So while I continued to test and look for better ways to monetize my blogs, I came across Ezoic, first I was reluctant to try them out, but I got convinced by one of their account managers to test out their services on this site, never did I know that, this will be one of my biggest earners online. I have used Google AdSense, The Moneytizer, Media.net and Word Ads on my sites, but when I started Implementing Ezoic on one of my sites, it was performing way better than all these networks and even beyond my expectations. It’s been over 5 months now (at the writing of this post), and when I look back, I think I could have started even earlier with Ezoic!
What is Ezoic?
Ezoic is an ad testing platform that helps publishers improve their website’s revenue and user experience. A website would comprise of elements like content, page structure to social icons and plugins. We also have ads, on many websites. The Ezoic Ad Tester App helps publishers optimize ad performance.
We have 2 main factors that would affect ad performance:
- The position of the ad on the page
- The way the combinations of ads can dilute one another
Ezoic Ad Tester App allows you to set ‘’place holders’’ on your site where ads of varying sizes are tested. The system tests different combinations of ads and sizes on each page. The combinations that make the most money, while still promoting good user experience will be shown to the majority of your website users.
In normal circumstances, testing ads is a challenging task and also takes time when done manually. The Ezoic Ad Tester App lets you do this automatically. The App can run thousands of tests per day on your site. It designs, analyses and implements successful ad combinations. So you are assured of results sooner, which gives you time to focus on content. The Ad Tester brings more benefits like increased ad income and improved usability.

You can install the Ad Tester app for free by signing up for an Ezoic Account and navigating to App Store Tab. Note Ezoic allows Bloggers to implement Ezoic for free on their sites but if you want enhanced features and even more increased earnings on your site, you can choose to pay for these additional features.
So is Ezoic Best alternative to Mediavine?
Mediavine has some similarities with Ezoic but I prefer Ezoic because of the flexibility publishers have with their accounts. Ezoic publishers have control of the ads displayed on their sites, in fact you can Switch on/off Ezoic completely or only allow 50% or less traffic to Ezoic version of your site which is not the case with Mediavine. Implementing Mediavine means you give them control of the number and type of ads displayed on your site. Choosing to work with Mediavine means, you won’t work with other ad networks. So you have to remove ad codes from other networks from your site, which is not the case with Ezoic. Ezoic even allows publishers to link other ad networks you are working with through their platform, although this is an optional feature. When you join Mediavine, and accepted, you sign a contract with them, if you do anything that goes against the contract, then you stand losing your account and lastly, to join Mediavine, you need 50,000 sessions a the previous month per Google analytics, while for Ezoic, they only need 10,000 website visits monthly to Sign up with their standard option. Ezoic network has another option for publishers with sites that have less than 10, 000 monthly page views called Access Now. If your site doesn’t have high traffic you can opt for this other option.
